Do you need a 6 inch dobsonian telescope or something that resembles the hubble telescope? We've tried to review a good cross section of types of telescope, as well as some of the leading brands.
We only review what we consider quality as astronical grade products. We don't normally review or ever recommend brands designed for generalist high street stores, those sold on the basis of magnification, rather than light-gathering ability and quality of optics.
It's not necessary to spend a massive amount of money to get a telescope that will give good views of planets , star clusters and nebulae, and that will give many years of pleasure. Here are some of the better beginner's starter scopes.

If you've learnt the night sky and want to move onto dimmer objects or astro-photography, here's a selection of more advanced telescopes that we've tested, with our reviews and conclusions.
